Our Story
The firm Photons food processing engineers was founded in 1985 at Thanjavur, which is the granary of Tamil Nadu, located in the delta – of fertile river Kaveri. The founders are experienced professionals with plenty of on-hand experience in pre-processing of paddy and other grains such as parboiling, drying, steaming, and raw paddy drying. The founders left their professional government career to pursue their shared belief that modern technologies would revolutionize food processing industry and to pioneer the automation of such manufacturing units via latest technologies.
They started the firm with a vision of improving conventional small-scale food processing business using automation & state-of-art technologies. Over the years they have come a long way by building expertise to easily scale up the quality of produce, reduce broken and losses, focus on consistency of produce and have established a global presence. In 2005, as part of expansion and operational convenience, the factory at Thanjavur was shifted to Nidadavole, Rajamundry, East Godavary District, A.P., India.

Beyond specialising in an ensemble of paddy/grain processing methods, Photons has also installed many efficacious units focusing on accelerated paddy/grain aging processes (example: steamed rice, half-boiled rice and more) via automation, and better-quality control of the yield with significantly less brokens. We take special care to study various stakeholder needs while designing and implementing technology driven methodologies including influential factors such as grain quality, customization needed while processing, batch /continuous process tuning, training needs of the local workforce, climate influences on the plant and market conditions pertaining to demand & supply.
